Farsighted by Emlyn Chand Blog Tour

Review by Goodreads:

Alex Kosmitoras’s life has never been easy. The only other student who will talk to him is the school bully, his parents are dead-broke and insanely overprotective, and to complicate matters even more, he's blind. Just when he thinks he'll never have a shot at a normal life, a new girl from India moves into town. Simmi is smart, nice, and actually wants to be friends with Alex. Plus she smells like an Almond Joy bar. Yes, sophomore year might not be so bad after all.

Unfortunately, Alex is in store for another new arrival—an unexpected and often embarrassing ability to “see” the future. Try as he may, Alex is unable to ignore his visions, especially when they begin to suggest that Simmi is in danger. With the help of the mysterious psychic next door and new friends who come bearing gifts of their own, Alex must embark on a journey to change his future.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book by Emlyn Chand.  I thought Alex was just adorable! He did not let his blindness interfere with living his life. I really loved the way Ms. Chand developed the characters throughout the story.

When Alex meets Simmi and refers to her smelling like an Almond Joy bar I actually laughed out loud. I saw Simmi as being soft spoken, caring and very thoughtful.  I think she is just what Alex needs! I am very excited about this story and really think that everyone is going to enjoy it.  I always very much enjoy a book that gives you the "hero trying to save the girl" and that is what I really enjoyed with this story.

I really look forward to seeing what Ms. Chand has in store for us in the future and everyone needs to follow her closely!

  1. Oh wow, Lisa! Thank you for the very kind review. I'm so glad you enjoyed Alex. I had a blast writing this book. Alex made me laugh too, especially when he just doesn't get how to act around girls :-P

Would you be a totally awesome, wonderful friend and cross-post this review to Amazon and GoodReads? It'd really help a new author like me get some much needed exposure.

    Thanks a mil,
    Emlyn
