New reviews for: October Breezes and Summer Sunsets by Maria Rachel Hooley

I just completed reading these two wonderful books and I have to say....get your tissues ready! This book takes you through several different emotions.....anywhere from laughter all the way to despair! October Breezes delves into the life of Skye. She was a very gentle and pleasant character to read about. I instantly fell in love with her best friend Devin. I saw him as the "knight in shining armor" that every girl dreams about. In this story you will follow Skye as she encounters new love ( or possibly just a new romance) and the adversity that comes with this romance.  She will learn that not everyone has "good intentions". Every teenager should read this book to help them understand that there is always someone or something else out there to help them through what they see as an impossible situation. I really felt for Skye in this story and could almost feel as she did when she thought that she had no other solutions.  Be prepared for some heart-wrenching moments! I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Summer Sunsets is the second installment of October Breezes.  This story is told from Devin's perspective.  As you may recall, Devin is Skye's best friend. He is also very much in love with Skye!  In this story you will follow Devin as he tries to make Skye see that she is worthy of love and happiness....especially with him!  I fell in love with his character in the first book and Ms. Hooley really lets you see how truly wonderful this character is!  Things can get very trying between these two but you just have to hang in there and enjoy the ride.  In the opening of this story you see that Devin and Skye have gone to different colleges but this does not hinder their friendship.  They have now completed their college careers and are now faced with returning home to possibly face their demons from the past.  This story will take you through what this couple has to face in order to finally find happiness....possibly with each other!  I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars!
